A Matter of Time
A web of time circles the death of my mother, Patty Marie, and I am still inextricably bound to her. Events in my life now reference her death, something I did not understand before I experienced this profound loss. A Matter of Time began with collecting remnants of loss that substitute for Patty’s physical presence or mark the passage of time since her death. I confess that I keep two tiny bundles of her hair in a wooden box. Hair, like the photograph, aids remembrance and I find that my own hair is now a personal marker of time. Through these images, I trace remembrance and the indelible impressions of identity and loss that remain over time.
